Blossoms

A research project and LP by Emptyset, released on Thrill Jockey and accompanied by an AV live performance. 

Blossoms was generated entirely from the output of a neural network based artificial intelligence system. So to maintain the format of previous collaborations, the visual content produced for the album and live show looked to push photographic and footage based source material through AI systems to affect distortions, colour, resolution and composition. Explorations into the weaknesses of early stage neural networks to garner unique visual effects alongside the analysis of live audio ensured sync but with unpredictable results.
